Christ Episcopal Church

“Growing by God's Grace into a Family of Faith and Ministry.”

Christ Church is the mother church of the Diocese of Atlanta, and the oldest congregation of any denomination in Macon, Georgia.  Founded in 1825, the present worship facility was constructed in 1850.  Originally a part of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia, the Diocese of Atlanta, of which Christ Church is a member, was organized in our parish church in 1907.

Steeped in history and having tradition as an anchor- we are nonetheless a forward-looking family of faith!  We believe in God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We believe in Holy Scripture as the inspired witness of God in our world and in our lives.

Christ Church is made up of people of all ages and all walks of life.  Our ministries and programs include a large and vibrant youth program, a children's ministries department where scores of children take an active part in the life of our parish, and an excellent music program that  glorifies God and assist us in our worship.  You can find out more about our many other ministries on this website, including our Outreach program which includes feeding the hungry and the homeless.

We hope you will visit us.  If you are looking for a church home. . .  consider Christ Church If you are interested in having additional information about Christ Church sent to you, click here.   We are always welcoming new people into our parish family.
